Sessions and practical information

How working together might look

What to expect, from your first message to regular sessions. If anything isn't covered here, just ask.

From first contact to regular sessions

  1. Get in touch

Email me or use the enquiry form. A couple of lines is plenty, and you don't need to explain everything.

  2. A free initial conversation

We arrange a short conversation, free of charge, so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether working with me might suit you. It lasts 15 minutes.

  3. Decide together

If it feels right, we agree the practical arrangements, including when and how we'll meet. There's no pressure to commit straight away.

  4. Ongoing sessions

We meet at an agreed time and review how things are going along the way, including when and how you'd like to finish.

Confidentiality and records

What happens to what you tell me

What you say in counselling and coaching is treated as confidential. That matters, because it's part of what makes it possible to talk openly.

Confidentiality does have limits. For example, there may be times when information needs to be shared to keep you or someone else safe, or where the law requires it. Like all counsellors working to the BACP Ethical Framework, I also discuss my work in supervision, which helps me work safely and well.

I'll explain how confidentiality works, including its limits, before we start, and you can ask about it at any point.

I keep brief, secure notes of our sessions. You can read more in the privacy notice.

Please note

Not an emergency service

I don't offer an emergency or crisis service, and I may not be able to reply to messages straight away. If you need urgent help, please see where to get help now.

Whenever you feel ready.

Send me an email or use the enquiry form. We can have a short, free conversation about what you're looking for, with no obligation to book anything.
