About me
Hello, I'm Annie.
I'm a counsellor working with adults. I specialise in working with anger, and I also offer coaching.

I'm a counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I trained at the University of Salford, where I completed a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy: Professional Practice.
I've worked as a counsellor in community, therapeutic and school settings, with adults, children and young people.
Anger became the area I specialised in, both in my counselling work and in training other counsellors. My practice now focuses on adults, offering counselling, anger management counselling and coaching.
I believe counselling should be shaped around the individual: their experiences, their needs and what feels helpful to them. I want people to feel able to explore difficult feelings and experiences without being judged, and without having to fit into a particular mould.
How I work
Shaped around you
My approach is person-centred and integrative. In practice, that means I won't be telling you what to do or what your experience means. I'll be trying to understand how things are for you, being honest with you, and offering warmth and respect rather than judgement.
I'm not tied to a single way of working, so I may draw on other ideas when they seem likely to help. We'd always talk about that together, and you can tell me what's working and what isn't.
Sessions might involve exploring feelings that are hard to put into words, noticing patterns, thinking about relationships, or making sense of past experiences. Some sessions are full of talk; others are quieter. We go at a pace that feels manageable for you.
-
Collaboration
You decide what you want to bring, and you can change your mind at any point.
-
Curiosity
I'm interested in how things are for you, including the parts that don't make sense yet.
-
Respect
I won't make assumptions about your background, identity or experiences. I'll ask rather than guess.
-
Honesty
Counselling isn't a quick fix, and I can't promise a particular result. If something isn't helping, I'd want us to talk about it.
Counselling is not an emergency service. If you need help urgently, please see where to get help now.
Whenever you feel ready.
