Who I am
Annie Andrews Counselling is run by Annie Andrews, who is responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the "data controller"). Contact: annieandrewscounselling@gmail.com.
Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration number: to follow.
What this notice covers
This notice covers information you share when you make an enquiry. If we go on to work together, I'll give you separate information about how counselling notes and records are kept.
What information I collect
When you get in touch, I receive the information you choose to send: usually your name, contact details, how you'd like me to reply and a short message.
Please don't send detailed personal, medical or crisis information in an initial enquiry. If you do include information about your health, it is treated as special category data and handled with extra care.
How I use it
I use your information only to reply to your enquiry and, if you choose, to arrange an initial conversation. I don't use it for marketing and I don't sell or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Under UK data protection law, I use your information on the basis that it is needed to respond to your request before we agree to work together, and in my legitimate interest in running my practice. If you share information about your health, I use it only as needed to provide counselling or coaching, under the provisions for health and social care.
Who else processes it
- Email: Google (Gmail), which stores the emails I send and receive
- Website hosting: Netlify, which hosts this website
- Enquiry form: FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which passes messages sent through the enquiry form on to my email
- Fonts: this website currently loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
How long I keep it
I keep counselling notes securely for 7 years after our work together ends, and then delete them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to ask me to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how it's used, and in some cases to ask for it to be transferred. To make a request, contact me using the details above.
If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
